William Lofgren CIA's Incompetant Alcoholic "Agent"
William S. Lofgren was completely incompetent in every way; but these are not only the opinions of the author of this website.
The fact is that those who worked with William S. Lofgren in their CIA careers have written books describing Mr. Lofgren as completely impotant and utterly useless as a CIA Agent.
Lets look at some examples:
1. Another new CIA agent to arrive in the Athens is Mr. William S. Lofgren. This agent was completely exposed in the Greek news-papers almost as soon as he arrived here. His previous service in India and Lebanon was also exposed as was the fact that he was expected to work on the Chinese, the Arabs, and the Greeks.For the cover for his activities he uses the American Embassy political office. He lives at No. 5 Kalvou in Psychico. His coments can be obtained through telephone No. 671-3980.

So the question is does the CIA routinely hire people of questionable intelligence and the street smarts of a lemming. It might even be fair to say that the CIA routinely tells lies without even knowing it. Did the CIA lie to Congress about torture? Probably they did. If William Lofgren is the example of the average, high level CIA Officer then it's no stretch of the imagination that others like Lofgren lied to members of Congress and the head of the CIA doesn't even know about it. If they could take a Buffoon like William S Lofgren and make him Chief of Eurasian operations one has to question the Agencies judgement and a Congressional investigation into CIA hiring and assignment practices must be called into question. Are we causing more harm than good in the world because alcoholic incompetents such as Lofgren are playing fast and loose with national security? |
